Bookworm, book dragon, bibliophile, booktrovert, bibliography, reader. It makes sense that lovers of stories have many words to describe themselves. The book community, with its shared joy and personal quirks (what do you mean, you fold the page?!) has been a shelter for people since quill met parchment for the first time. And I am incredibly excited to make Volta Books a physical place for that community to indulge their love of books, and meet others with the same passion.
Since starting in 2024 as an online store, the range of secondhand books and bookish items has already grown (and outgrown its initial allocated space!), with a list of future plans including not just a wider selection of books and accessories but events including author ‘meet and greets’, book clubs and any other opportunities to give readers the chance to indulge in the three best hobbies in the world; buying books, reading books and talking about books.
So hi, I’m Jade and being surrounded by books is where I am at my most happiest. I look forward to welcoming you through the door of Volta Books to browse, buy, chitter-chatter about your latest read, test out the armchairs, whatever your bookish heart needs.
